Another great day with lots accomplished!
We reviewed perimeter this morning and the boys got busy playing with creating shapes on geoboards. The boys were given the perimeter and they needed to create a shape that mirrored that perimeter. Some shapes were quite interesting! In LA, we listened to a podcast that persuaded the boys to wear their pants on their waist and with a belt. We were able to clearly identify the opinion and three reasons why this was important. In Social this afternoon, the boys used their compass rose from yesterday to complete a series of directions and instructions in the Royal Castle. Tomorrow, we will see if they were able to follow all of the directions correctly. Finally, the boys were given some time to finish up with 'create a creature's' enclosure display. Stay warm!!! How did I grow today? - In Social studies we did our floor plan of the royal castle - In gym today we played exercise tic-tac-toe - In LA, we did more things we want to do as a principal - We listened to a podcast in LA - In Social studies, we made floor plans - We did perimeter of squares and rectangles - We got to use geoboards - Today we had fun! Our drafts will be emailed to Mr. Claus Friday for approval and our proto-types will be sent next week! Hopefully we get our buildings selected!!
In Science this afternoon, we got busy learning about how to make instruments out of garbage and recycled items. The boys needed to choose between a wind, plucking or striking instrument and design their plan. From there, we were able to gather our items and get busy building. Our band will demonstrate how their instruments produce a pleasant sound, can change volume and pitch this coming Tuesday. Should be interesting!! Have a great night!
