Grade 3/4
Today's cursive writing letter was the letter F. The boys are beginning to catch on to some of the words that have been written in our daily morning message! After morning routine, we reviewed fact families and completed a practice worksheet. The boys then played a game there they rolled a dice, creating two factors, and had to complete the fact family that would work with their numbers!
In Language Arts, we reviewed similes and learned about metaphors. The boys read some simple sentences where they had to identify if it was an example of a simile or metaphor. Once completed they were able to write some of their own. Did you know that one student has a principal that was a bear! (Great metaphor!) This afternoon, we read another chapter of Hatchet. In Science, we learned about the noise level and decibels. We discussed how certain sounds can cause hearing damage or loss over certain periods of time. We practiced working for 10 mins to see if we stayed in the low risk hearing damage category....we did pretty good! Not a lot of free time was awarded today, but we did have some super stars during our lock-down practice and during our end of the day clean up! Thank you boys! How did I grow today? - We did some Hatchet and the main guy thinks that search and rescue is going to come - This was the fourth day of mission impossible and it was really, really fun - In Science, we did a hearing test - In Math today, we did fact families and we did a game and you roll a dice and write the two numbers down into fact family - In Language arts we compared similes and metaphors - Today we did mission impossible again and it was the first time I was a really good spy - Today we only have 5 points left on free time Mrs. Carter
